About Abel's Field
Left motherless by tragedy and abandoned by his father, high school senior
Seth McArdle (Samuel Davis) faces enormous pressure as he strives to
support his little sisters. At school, he endures the daily bullying of
the football team. But fighting back only finds him singled out for
punishment and assigned to an after-school work detail under the
supervision of the reserved groundskeeper, Abel (SOUL SURFER’S Kevin
Sorbo). Much to his surprise, Seth discovers that Abel may be the only
one who truly understands his struggles. As dark times lure Seth toward
desperate measures, the reluctant Abel may be the one person who can
point him back toward the light.
My Thoughts
This movie was so amazing, it pulled at my heart strings, a movie about overcoming through faith. This young man, still in high school struggles to support his two younger sisters in every and any way he can. After his mother died, his father abandoned him, and a brother who just doesn't seem to care, Seth faces many challenges, challenges that he'll overcome through unsuspecting sources. I teared up, it broke my heart to watch Seth's story unfold, but it was completely evident that he felt abandoned, but tried to be strong enough to support his two younger sisters, still being a kid himself. I really enjoyed watching this film with my family. It is a story that is more common than people probably think, life is always throwing curve balls and massive challenges, but if you keep the faith, keyword, faith, you will find a way. You have to open your heart and mind and trust in things you've once lost faith in, trust in people, and that is always hard to do when life seems to have done nothing but beat you down to the point where you have no faith and confidence. This is definitely a must see if you love movies about overcoming and achieving faith, belief, happiness, stability and strength!
