Cosmopolitan - A Magazine about Sex?

With screaming titles of  Late Night Sex, Epic Sex, Crazy Hot Sex, who wouldn't think it was anything other... I'm here to change your mind, view and thoughts about Cosmopolitan!

I recently received a free subscription to Cosmopolitan magazine and within maybe 2 weeks, I received 3 issues, December, January and February.  My 12 year comes in and goes "ewww, ummm, why do you keep getting magazines that are about sex?" Guessing the covers made her curiosity wander, when my mother replies, "that's what those magazines are all about"... So, I thought I'd enlighten them and my readers. I was finally able to read an entire magazine for the first time in years. Usually, I can only get through a few pages and end up skimming through the rest, and not for the sake of quality content. I usually don't have the time to relax, unwind and enjoy something all to myself.

My husband said it right "they use that cover to sell magazines, but that is not all that it contains"... I found myself blown away by all of the helpful information, and began wondering... If both my youngest tween/teen and my mother assumed this magazine was just about sex, are other women overlooking this magazine?

In an article entitled they had 20 Things for You to Do This Month...
Throw a "Change" the World Party... Instead of a bottle of booze, ask guests to bring a bag filled with all loose change that they can dig up from their apartment and car and then you donate the proceeds to your charity of choice! What a great way to get together and do something for the greater good! Giving back and supporting a cause, people will swarm to this idea! 

"Turn your friends into cookies"... How about a neat way to say thank you, I thought of you, or you're sweet, by turning your instagram pics into cookies? You'll get 12 cookies for $36 at bakingforgood.com and a portion of those proceeds go to charity? What a neat thing to add to your  "Change the World Party"!

Now I've never been too hip on fashion, I've always went with my own style and its been that way for years and years. But this is Fun Fearless Fashion, so in the event that one day I became fearless, I'd love to enjoy some Amazing lace, some Sexy Shoes and Solid Gold numbers...

56% of men thought that a red mani as hot! 24% went with teal, 11% went with glittery and 9% went with nude! So if you want sexy nails, go for one of those fun hues!!!

How to smell good all night.... Did you know if you strategically place your perfume in different pulse points, you can smell delicious all night? Straight from the Beauty Cheat Sheet:

1) Dab vaseline on to the fronts of your ankles and the backs of your knees and then spritz with perfume. Scents rise, so it is key to affix to low pulse points!   

2) Spray your inner wrists and press (don't rub-doing so breaks up the notes so they fade) it against the other one for five seconds! This one was new to me because I most definitely ALWAYS rubbed them together! 

3) Mist your cleavage and the area where your cups connect (unless its silk) The heated heart-zone is great for propelling scent molecules. (WHO KNEW?)

4) Apply perfume to a dollop of hair smoothing cream and apply it to the bottom 2 inches of your hair, the most porous and absorbent part. (Loved this one!) I used to put it at the nape of my neck in my hair, but I guess I was wrong!

How to salvage a shattered compact? This has happened to the best of us! Instead of running out and buying a new compact, add a few drops of alcohol to the broken bits and stir to create a paste, reform it with a spoon and let it dry overnight! Bam, refreshed compact!

They even added a craft to the mag! Yes, we love saving money or making our own beauty trends! Don't spend extra money on those colorful bobby pins that you're spotting others wearing as barrettes, make your own to suit your own color needs, using nail polish!

This one is for my sister! She thinks she's covered in lines and wrinkles, so I wanted to share this in her honor... Expensive miracle creams aren't entirely necessary, simple changes/additions to your diet can really help encourage smooth, line-free skin, because we know getting older is scary and it doesn't help that we're constantly exposed to harmful UV rays and other pollution in our air.

EAT MORE VITAMIN C! Berries, kiwis, and other citrus fruits (1/2 cup daily), this will counteract free radicals and promote collagen growth! (Use C-spiked products!)

EAT MORE VITAMIN E! Eating vitamin e rich foods will counteract collagen loss while improving the skins ability to hydrate itself... Foods like whole eggs (two for breakfast), almonds and pecans. (Use E-enhanced creams that quenches from the outside in...

Body Care...
Feeling low on energy? Snack on bananas for a jolt in energy before exercising or any vigorous activity that'll get your heart pumping! This is much better for you than a sports drink, natural sugars and higher potassium will help you stay hydrated much longer than an energy drink! (TIP FOR MY ATHLETIC BABY) 

And oh so much more that I didn't include! So you see, don't overlook that cosmo issue again, it's filled with helpful information, and for those in relationships that could use a little spice to liven it up, yes, there's some sexiness included as well!
