Big Shoes to Fill ~*Wordless Wednesday*~

Big Shoes to Fill

It amazes me how my 2 year can hop out of bed and get into the very things she gets into, though they make me laugh and chuckle, they often bring me to a deeper more meaningful thought about its purpose in my life. I've come to a different phase in my life, I'm becoming more comfortable in my skin and more defined as a mother, my role in my children's success, and their health, welfare and overall happiness!

Isabella reminds me that I've got some mighty big shoes to fill...

Happy Father's Day

Growing up, I learned the true meaning of "deadbeat dad". I didn't have a father around, who loved, nurtured, took interest, or even seemed to care, in fact, I was told to drop dead a time or two by my own. I know my story is dramatic and intense, so I'll not share the gory details... When I had my first child I was 19, I went into labor alone, I began raising my daughter on my own, and when her father decided to take a real and stable part in her life, she was probably around 5. Then he magically grew up, which was a blessing!

When I met my husband, he played an active part in his children's lives, and as I watched him with his children and mine, I admired him. It was one of those traits that made me really fall in love with him. As I got older, I started to see more and more men out with their children alone. It was so odd, but beautiful to me. A father who takes a stand and really cares for his children was admirable, especially since experience had shown me that fathers weren't reliable.

If you were to ask me about Father's Day then, it was a day that I celebrated in honor of myself, the mom, that raised her child alone, without family support, and yes, without a father for my child, and I made it work and look easy. But it wasn't, there was a void that I just couldn't fill.

Father's day is not just any day, not EVERY father can be celebrated or honored, it definitely requires more than impregnating a woman who gives birth to your seed. It takes hard work, dedication, and a whole lot of love, and that is what I see in my husband, he's not just a great husband, he's a wonderful father. No, I'm not biased,  I just know that now, I no longer have to tell myself "Happy Father's Day Rose"! That is the most wonderful feeling, knowing that my children have a great role model, a man in their lives that love them, that is there for them and will always support them!

This post is not just about my husband and his role in our children's lives, but it is about the Father's who've learned, matured, and really understood what it takes to be a father, I honor those men. Happy Father's Day to my eldest daughter's father, Ariel, for becoming a responsible, supportive, and loving father, one that I can be proud of and happy that we share a child together.

But also to each and every one of the Father's out there who've learned that being a parent comes with its fair share of ups and downs, joys and sorrows, the one's that wipe the tears, kiss the boo boos and tell you I love you before you go to bed at night, the father's that celebrate your accomplishments and show you they believe in you and will not give up on you no matter what, the father's who ask how your day was, helps you with your homework and encourages you to try out for the team and helps you practice, the father's that will drive miles and miles just to see you play, the father's that will attend that father daughter dance with you, the father's that will call you just to see how you are doing, to all of those kinds of fathers (like the ones that are father's to my children), you deserve this day, to be celebrated, honored, loved and yes, appreciated for all your hard work dedication, and support all year through.

Twisted Ramen Noodles

My family loves Ramen Noodles, but since I ate them so much as a child, I grew a large disdain for them as an adult. But it often sucks making multiple meals, so I've learn to appreciate ramen noodles by twisting them.

I recently went to a grocery store that I've never shopped at and came across this little guys from Knorr, I was very excited to try something different when cooking, plus it would potentially save me from having those ingredients on hand and potentially going to waste! I love that!

So when my family wanted ramen noodles, I remembered that I bought these and thought, why not try it,  for that little something different/extra.

How do you "twist" ramen noodles?

Using the pictured ingredients, you're creating an almost completely different meal... I loved how it made my noodles taste, it wasn't just noodles anymore, it was a luxury soup! Believe it or not, now I'll actually WANT ramen noodles, no problem.

Bad photograph, forgot to take an earlier picture, this is the remains of lunch :-(

Apologies & Updates

I know I've been almost "missing" from all of the social media networks I'm a member of, I know I've been ghost from my blog, I know that I've abandoned everything that helped me, and I allowed myself to sink into a meaningless pit of pity, because a series of unfortunate events, just attacked my world and made it a little unbearable. I've been unmotivated, and there is no excuse for that. I'm holding myself accountable and telling each and every one of you who subscribe, read, or follow my blog, that I apologize. I hope you ALL can forgive me....

I do have a little news that did give me a little pick me up the other day...

~*I'm going to be published in the ALL YOU MAGAZINE Back to School Special Edition!!! Oh, ok, it's just going to be a quote, but my name will be in a magazine no less, but not just ANY magazine, MY FAVORITE magazine!!!*~

Then on the very same day.... I learned that I won a Mr. Clean Gift Basket from Mom Central!!! YEAH!!!

What have I been up to since I've been ghost... Aside from becoming extremely addicted to SIMS Social on Facebook...

I went to see my eldest nephew graduate, it was hard not to get choked up, why? Let me break it down to you really quick like, I am the youngest child, and being the youngest child you usually get served with the odds and ends of chores, tasks, duties and yes, responsibilities! When I was in High School, Jaylen was born, and he was the most beautiful, loving, smart little boy I had ever seen. Jaylen was my responsibility, I watched and cared for him for the first 3 years of his life while my sister had to be a responsible adult and take care of and help maintain our household (being the oldest), but being a part of Jaylen's life wasn't just a responsibility to me, it was like, Jaylen was my own. (WAIT) As I grew older, the love we shared remained, but distance came between us, we're not as close anymore, but I still (OF COURSE) want nothing but the best for him. So in remembering this small young, beautiful, loving, smart boy, and knowing that he's about to be an adult in a just  few short months, and watching him graduating from high school, well it just blew me away!

I went to see an Advanced Screening of Madagascar 3 with Isabella, (THANKS GOES TO CROWDTAP), I thoroughly enjoyed it, note that I said I thoroughly enjoyed it. Isabella was stoked, completely, in awe of the movie, but two things happened that I didn't anticipate. #1 she didn't like wearing the 3D glasses and at first refused to keep them on, so while I WAS enjoying the movie in all of its 3D glory, she was looking at the blurs across the screen. #2 She learned the reason for the 3D glasses and began wearing them, just before she fell asleep.  You see, traveling down to Washington, D.C. was a great idea, especially since it was for the advanced screening of one of her all time favorite movies, but getting up really early in the morning to see a movie that was right in the time frame of her nap.... BAD IDEA! So at about 3 quarters of the way through, she zonked out. Poor thing, but no fret, we will be OWNING this movie the first day it comes out.

Preparing for my daughter to graduate from ELEMENTARY SCHOOL! (CLARIFICATION), I have 3 daughters and 1 Son. My daughter Janelle will be graduating from ELEMENTARY SCHOOL?! Isn't that crazy! It won't be for another 3 years until Isabella ENTERS Elementary School!!! Which means ALL OF MY KIDS will be in HIGH SCHOOL!!! OMG, now I'm losing it. I digress, we bought Janelle her first dress, she chose it, she tried it on, she loved it!!! I loved that she LOVED IT! She's not by any means a dress girl, a show her legs girl, but for her graduation, she said she wanted to try something different!!! I'm so proud of me for NOT forcing her to try or be something she didn't choose for herself and look what it go me, my girl will be looking the part for her graduation! I love that!

Well, I've said a lot this post, thank you for understanding, being patient and sticking it out with me.

Until Next Time,
