Customer Service

There's customer service and then there's quality customer service

Now that school's starting back up, my online shopping has increased, if it's a good deal, I'm probably shopping there, searching for a bargain, or doing early gift shopping for the holidays and very rarely, purchasing something spectacular for myself. But its not just online shopping, what about when you're ordering in, dining out, or picking up something to take home, I've been doing that too!

My husband is an Electrician, and he recently had an overnight double shift, meaning, he worked from 5am - 3:30 pm, came home and went to work from midnight to (shoot that day he didn't get home until 1pm), the worst part of it was the night before, I had to rescue him on his way to work because he got a flat tire and since he has specialty tires, we were sure to pay a pretty penny for ONE TIRE.  So when he came home and said to me "babe, can I get some ihop?", I had to oblige. So I picked up the phone and dialed my local ihop, the man on the other end of the line said "Hello, thank you for calling ihop, how can I help you?", I said "I'd like to place a to go order", he says "hold one moment", and I wait...Man picks up the phone and says "this is_____, how can I help you?", I said again "I'd like to place a to go order", he says "hold one moment"..... 10 minutes later, I hear someone dialing a number, I call out "Hello", he says, "Hello is ________ there?", I said "I'm sorry sir, I've been sitting on hold for the last 10 minutes waiting for someone to take my to go order". He quickly apologizes and takes my order, I ask how it it'll be, get in my car and drive over. Phew! About time!

I arrived at ihop within 10 minutes or so and I walk in, its fairly busy, there's no one at the to go counter to greet me, but there is a gentlemen at the hostess area, helping guests to their seats, I'm being passed by different waiters/waitresses and not a soul says "Hello, How can I help you?"... Seriously? So about 10 minutes a woman is walking into the kitchen and as she's speeding by me, she quickly says "I'll be with you in a moment", great FINALLY! Woman comes out of the kitchen, abruptly asks my name and what I ordered, disappears into the kitchen, comes out maybe 5 minutes later and now she's trying to be friendly, "thank you, hope to see you again", I said, :"come here, again?", She said "yes", I said "I don't think so" and she asks why, I explain to her the scenario, she shoves my food in the bag, says "I'm sorry to hear that" and doesn't even look at me!

It wasn't until the next day that I decided that it might be in my best interest to file a complaint with ihop, letting them know the disappointment I felt in their lack of quality customer service. So I wrote an email, that was limited in characters, but it was enough to get my point across. I didn't write with the intention of receiving anything, seriously, I wanted them to KNOW what happened to me, I wanted them to know why I wouldn't return to their restaurant, I wanted them to know, that I value companies that value me.

I received a call from the General Manager, she read my email and thought it best to contact me directly, she wanted to know who I dealt with and assured me that this would be corrected. She even offered me two free meals at that location, and urged me to return and see the General Manager for that location when I returned.
She said that she'd send me an email with the free meal information.

This is where the value of quality customer service comes in, I make a complaint, I receive a call, I'm offered something for my troubles, and then what? YOU DROP THE BALL!!!!

Here I thought I'd be writing today about  all of the quality customer service I've experienced with all of these fabulous and wonderful companies, and I'd share them with you because they deserve to be labeled as such, and ihop got away with me. I thought ihop had impressed me, I mean who doesn't love a full stack of delicious, hot, buttered, warm pancakes smothered with syrup, served with all of the fixin's anyway?

I never heard from the woman again, I didn't receive an email, I didn't get a coupon or an email to redeem for 2 free meals at my local ihop! Yup, I'd say the ball was dropped! If you can't deliver, don't say you can. I would've went forward just knowing that I sent my message and someone read it, but she promised me something in return for my troubles.

Oh ihop, you're now on the do not go list.

Until, next time,

Crowdtap Sample and Share with Old Navy

I've got to say that when I recieved word from Crowdtap that I was selected to do a sample and share for a FREE PAIR OF JEANS for me and a friend from Old Navy, I couldn't have been more excited. I love Old Navy Jeans because they always have the hottest styles and latest trends and guess what, they suit a curvy tall me.

One of my styles that I couldn't wait to sample and share with you were these hotties:

Aren't they just delicious?

Then there were these babies, which are a staple in my closet, flare!:

So the plan was that my girlfriend Carolina and I, were going to head out on Sunday the 14th for an girls day, we were going to hit up Old Navy (OF COURSE), have a little lunch at one of our favorite spots PANERA and then watch the new movie the Smurfs. (Aren't they so cute?)

The day before I took my kids and my two nephews to Kings Dominion, we spent the entire day there and didn't get home until after midnight. I didn't wake up until 10 til' 12 the next day. So much for getting it all together and heading out first thing in the morning.

Well I knew when I sent my friend a text and she didn't immediately respond that something wasn't right. She was up late the night before as well, and wasn't quite up to a girlfriends day out. So I headed out for my free pair of jeans with my mom instead.

I got to Old Navy and immediately sought out my jeans. I searched high and low, and guess what? Those styles above, weren't in stock in store. I tried to squeeze into a smaller size, but that didn't please me at all. So guess what happened? My mom walked out of Old Navy with a free pair of jeans.

I felt so completely disappointed. Its like somehow that day, I had forgotten the MAIN reason I always shop at Oldnavy.com, because my size is exclusively carried online and online only. I felt disgusted, disappointed, saddened, here I got picked for the most awesome opportunity presented by Crowdtap and I couldn't even capitalize on it! Part of me wanted to be reimbursed, part of me wanted to scream, yell and cry like a big baby and part of me just felt so completely disappointed with myself.

Overall, my experience was full of disappointment. I wish one of two things would happen, one Old Navy will extend the supply of jeans in their stores to include my size or two Crowdtap will allow the sample and share to be utilized online or shoot, why not both?

Even though my friend didn't come out with me that day, I still gave her the coupon as promised, I begged her for pictures, because well she could model her look (she got an outfit), so I'm very happy for her, but just wish I could share in that FREE HAPPINESS. For a split second I considered buying the jeans for me anyway and just hope and pray that one day I'll fit into them, once I become motivated, determined and committed to shedding some lbs, but I thought, I have enough things that aren't currently in use right now in my closet, this would just add to my hoarding. I figured my mom could benefit from the opportunity, then at least it didn't go to waste.

I can still complete my report with Crowdtap and that is alright, but I'm sure I will let them know that I'm completely disappointed with the experience.

Diamond Candle Ring Unveiled

So, after stating that I'd be patient and wait for my ring to effortlessly release its on hold on the wax....

I grew a little impatient and ended  up doing EXACTLY what  said I wouldn't, I dug it out!!!!

It was a bit of a struggle which is when I realized just how BIG the stone was, because I couldn't grasp it with the tweezers and pull it out, I had to dig, dig, wiggle, tug and pull....

I was so excited and so anxious, I wanted to see what I got...

Isn't it beautiful, I thought, but NOW, I've got to see, is there anything etched inside, I'm dying to know, is my ring real? What could it's value be, I'll bet you're wondering about it too?

Well... After cleaning it up and making it walk the runway...

We discovered a few things, one, its a very small ring with a VERY LARGE BEAUTIFUL PINK STONE...AND... There's nothing etched inside to indicate that this ring is real,  not silver, not china, not Thailand, nothing is stamped. But I am okay with that, the ring is still beautiful, the candle still smells delicious, and I think its going to take a while before my tweezers are clean, (wink, wink)

Overall, was it worth it? I'd say yes, I'll be thinking about when to purchase my next DIAMOND CANDLE!

Diamond Candles

Has anyone heard of Diamond Candles before? I'm not quite sure just how I came across them, but with each "soy candle" there's a ring inside, a ring that can value anywhere from $10 - $5,000. The candles come in 11 different scents, Apple Slice, Cupcake, Lavender Lemon, Carnival Candy, Cinnamon Tea, Dusk, Strawberry Bliss, Sunwashed, Sweet Pea, White Chocolate and even Scentless.

The candles sell for $24.95 + shipping, not too bad right?

After watching video after video, seeing picture after gorgeous picture of the fantastic rings people have gotten inside their "Diamond Candle",  I finally decided to purchase one of these beauties for myself, and IT ARRIVED TODAY!!!!

I chose the Lavender Lemon, which was an easy choice for me because I love anything citrus scented and I figured the Lavender would help "destress" me after a long day. I'll admit that when I purchased this "Diamond Candle", I expected the jar to be cheap, I expected that it wouldn't "hold" the flame and shine so bright and lastly, it's definitely NOT going to smell as beautiful as I had hoped.

Well, Diamond Candle, you have officially proven me WRONG!

The candle itself (in the glass jar) is beautiful, its sleek and modern and it even comes with a "lid", I didn't know that!? Then the smell, I can't help it, but I keep breathing in deeply through my nose, the scent is fantastic, it surpassed all of my expectations!!!! My son is at the other end of the room, I at my desk, and he said "what's that smell?", my daughter replies "Its that Candle Duh!"

So the rule is that you are supposed to burn the candle until it reaches the gold foil, revealing the ring, you're supposed to use tweezers or something of the like to remove the "foil package" and let the wax cool, once it cools, you're supposed to unwrap it and reveal the gorgeousness enclosed. I've already told myself that I'd let it burn until I could easily remove the foil package that contained my ring, my friend said if she got one, she'd probably "drill it out". The scary thing is, I KNOW WHERE THE RING IS! Why? I can see it clear as day... It's right there!!!!

So, I've got my tools ready, and I'm doing my best to wait for it patiently... It's been almost an hour since I lit it, the aroma is filling the air, and I'm loving the smell, but if I'm going to share my thoughts, I'd best be honest, "I WANT THAT RING NOW!!!!"

Until later apparently, much, much, much later....
